Bacillus mucilaginosus is a kind of common bacteria usually distributed in soil and rock.This stain is widely used in various territories such as agriculture,mining and environmental governance,because of its ability of dissolving mineral,coating large capsule outside the cell and secreting acid and growthpromoting substance.Since the bacteria was found,researchers worldwide have done a lot of studies on its isolation and identification,fermentation conditions,its function in dissolving minerals and its mechanism,as well as other applications on agriculture and industrial.Based on the former studies,this paper reviewed the achievements of Bacillus mucilaginosus studies on taxonomic,biological properties,functional characteristics,culture conditions and applications,in order to provide certain reference for the further application of the bacteria.
