This paper analyzed the status of organic fertilizer and its future perspective in China.Although the resources of organic fertilizer are abundance and still increase,the quality and utilization rate of organic resources decreased.The main reasons for the decrease rate of utilization are that the techniques of organic fertilizer use have not adapted to the new demand in rural area,and management of organic fertilizers is absent.The development orientation in utilization of organic resources is simple treatment and direct use of crop residues and animal manure. The objective is to use 50 million tones of nutrients annually derived from organic materials,and the ratio of nutrient from organic and inorganic fertilizer is equivalent in order to realize rational fertilizer application strategies.
