The effect of Orychophragmus violaceus cover on the soil environment and the peach quality in a peach orchard in the North was studied through Orychophragmus violaceus plowing，Orychophragmus violaceus cover or simply weeding.The results showed that the Orychophragmus violaceus cover and plowing could maintain the soil temperature，hold the soil water，inhibite weeds，decrease soil volume weight,increase the soil organic carbon,organic nitrogen and microorganism.The soil environment was improved.The fruit quality including vitamin C，soluble sugar and soluble solid content had increased.
