With 2 year old seedlings of ‘Nanfeng’ tangerine as materials，pot experiment was conducted to determine the effects of organic fertilizer，sulfur and both mixed application on the growth of ‘Nanfeng’tangerine and the chemical properties of calcareous soil.Results showed that soil pH value decreased obviously after organic fertilizer and sulfur application.Compared with CK，soil pH value with 150 mg/kg sulfur application was declined the most obviously by 129.The content of soil organic matter，total nitrogen，available nitrogen，available phosphorus，available potassium and available sulfur increased under organic fertilizer application treatment.After sulfur was applied，soil available phosphorus and available sulfur increased significantly，while soil organic matter，total nitrogen content showed decreasing trend.When sulfur application was less than 100 mg/kg，the branch diameter and the chlorophyll content both increased under mixed application.The maximum branch diameter were 147 more than CK，the maximum chlorophyll content increased by 5481% compared with CK.Under organic fertilizer and sulfur application treatment，soluble protein content increased and nitrate reductase activity was promoted.While NO-3 N content reduced after sulfur was applied.
