In order to study the effect of alginic acid urea on crops，experiment on maize was conducted in Zhumadian city，Henan province.The result showed that compared to the urea treatment，the average maize grain yields were increased by 5.32% when applied alginic acid urea， and N uptake of alginic acid urea treatments were significantly higher under both N 90 kg/hm2 and N 180 kg/hm2 application rates.Application of alginic acid urea could increase maize economic coefficient obviously than urea.N apparent recovery and agronomic efficiency of alginic acid urea treatment was increased by 2.94 percentage points and 26% higher than urea treatment respectively.
