The article established a method for the determination of total thallium in fertilizers by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).It shows a good linear relationship in the range of 0～10 ng/mL.The linear equation is y=0.014631x-1.177373×10-4(R2=1.0000)，and the detection limit is 0.4 μg/kg.The relative standard deviation(RSD)is 2.3%(n=6)，standard addition recovery rate is 91.5%～98.6%.The method is simple，and the spectrum interference is small.It has the advantages of good precision and accuracy，low detection limit and high sensitivity，and provides a simpler and more efficient method for the detection of total thallium in fertilizers.
