In order to clarify the effect of soil physical properties and fertility of Elaeocarpus decipiens plantation by interplanting Polygonatum cyrtonema，two stands (pure plantation of Elaeocarpus decipiens and mixed plantation with Elaeocarpus decipiens and Polygonatum cyrtonema)were selected.By collecting soil profile samples of each stand in 2018 and 2019，soil physical and chemical properties of 5～10 and 15～20 cm layers and their differences in stand growth were analyzed.The results showed that，compared with 2018，the differences of soil saturated water holding capacity，field capacity，water content in different soil layers between mixed plantation and pure plantation decreased gradually in 2019，decreased by 81.66～124.48，56.69～143.45，10.29～26.17 g/kg，respectively.Compared with pure plantation of Elaeocarpus decipiens，mixed plantation with Elaeocarpus decipiens and Polygonatum cyrtonema can effectively improve the total phosphorus，available potassium and pH in 5～10 cm soil layer，raising by 0.001～0.042 g/kg，19.992～23.655 mg/kg and 0.09～0.13，respectively.The interplant has significant effects on soil physical properties and nutrients and can improve soil structure and properties.It is beneficial to improve the ecological and economic benefits of the plantation.
