Bacillus is a kind of spore-producing gram-positive bacteria with aerobic or facultative anaerobic life，which can produce resistant spherical or oval spores.Bacillus strains have strong resistance to high temperature，UV，drying，ionizing radiation and a variety of toxic chemicals.It has strong adaptability，and is found widely in nature，including both aquatic and terrestrial environment.It has strong metabolism，which can produce a variety of secondary metabolites.It also has high fermentation density and other diverse functions，and is widely used.In recent years，a large number of model strains of this genus have been published in China and abroad，with the characteristics of more new additions and faster renaming.In this paper，the species，number，publication time，renaming，morphological，physiological and biochemical characteristics of model strains of Bacillus were reviewed in order to clarify the taxonomic status of each model strain of Bacillus comprehensively and systematically.
