Developing the new quality productivity can promote the agriculture become more intelligence，ecologicalization，industrialization，and so on.The demand for professional knowledge of the talents has also undergone profound changes.Soil and fertilizer science，as a key research field supporting national food security，ecological civilization construction，and sustainable agricultural development，faces new opportunities and challenges in talent cultivation.This article took Huazhong Agricultural University as an example to explore the current situation，goals，and paths of talent cultivation in soil and fertilizer science for the development of new quality productive forces，which could provide reference and inspiration for other agricultural universities.
